Dreamworks Animation Origins

Dreamworks origins

In 1997 Dreamwork Animation was founded as a subsidiary of DreamWorks SKG (stands for Spielberg, Katzenberg, Geffen) in which it was founded as a company in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffery Katzenberg and David Geffen after Katzenberg resigned from Disney. Dreamworks Animation first released Antz and The Prince of Egypt which contrasts from Disney film. Eventually, in 2004, the company became independent from dreamwork pictures (at some point renamed from Dreamworks SKG).

Recently in 2016, it is bought by NBC Universal.
